Description
The large FORIS plate at 260 mm — a dinner plate, and the biggest piece in the enamelled range. About 400 g, which is roughly half what a stoneware plate of the same size weighs.
Why enamel for a dinner plate
It will not chip the way glazed earthenware does when plates are stacked wet, it does not take stains from turmeric or tomato, and it survives being packed into a crate for a trip. The matte finish stops it looking like camping kit on a laid table.
Construction and care
Enamel over a stainless steel core. The rim is thin and unrolled so it dries cleanly, and the slit lets it hang. Direct fire, oven and dishwasher safe. Stack when dry — wet enamel surfaces can stick together.
