Horizontal Garden Storage Unit, 2020L, Gas-Assisted Lid & Lockable Double Doors

Description

A low horizontal store for the things that should not live in the shed — wheelie bins, barbecue, cushions, a couple of bikes. It swallows 2 x 360L or 3 x 240L bins, and at 132.5cm tall it sits below most ground-floor windows and under a fence line.

Getting things in and out

It opens two ways. The front double doors give you floor-level access for a bin you are wheeling in; the top lid opens for everything you would rather drop in from above. Gas-assisted pistons take the weight of the lid and hold it open while your hands are full, which is the difference between this and a box with a hinge.

Build and weather

The panels are a wood-effect composite resin. It will not rot, rust or need painting, and a hose and a brush is the whole maintenance routine. The doors lock with a padlock through the integrated hasp (padlock not supplied). Brackets inside are pre-drilled for a shelf if you want to split the height — the shelf itself is not included.
