Description
A 2 litre enamelled pot built to go from the hob to the middle of the table. The size suits three to four people, which is the awkward gap between a saucepan and a full casserole.
Heat sources
It works on induction, gas, halogen, ceramic hobs and in the oven. The stainless steel core conducts well and keeps the pot light for its capacity. It is not microwave safe. The lid knob is oiled walnut, so it stays cool to lift and looks like tableware rather than cookware.
The enamel
A glass-like glaze over steel. It does not hold onto odours or take colour from turmeric, tomato or red wine the way an untreated or plastic-coated surface will, and it cleans without scrubbing. That matters for a pot you intend to serve from as well as cook in.
Steaming
A stainless steel steam plate is available separately and turns it into a steamer for fish or vegetables.
