Description
A press and a mug in one piece. Put coffee grounds or loose tea in the bottom, pour on hot water, let it stand, then lower the plunger and drink straight from the same vessel. There is no separate brewer to rinse and no filter to buy.
Why the double wall matters
The mug is double layered. That keeps the drink hot noticeably longer than a single-wall ceramic mug, and it keeps the outside cool enough to hold properly rather than by the handle alone. It also means no ring of condensation on the desk.
Using it
Coarse grounds work best — the same grind you would use in a cafetiere. Two to four minutes is the usual window for coffee, less for most teas. Press slowly; forcing the plunger pushes fines through the mesh and muddies the cup.
